Correspondence, 1889-1941, concerning his law practice, his views about religion, socialism, astrology, politics and other contemporary topics. Also include correspondence with religious and socialist organizations including the Thomas Paine National Historical Association, the Nederlandsch Anti-Oorlag Raad, the Theosophical Society of the United States, the National Union for Social Justice, and the Anti-Imperialist League (Boston, Mass.). Also include correspondence with the Independent Order of Social Supercrats, the Socialist Party of Nebraska, the United Colored Socialists of America, and the American Peace Society of Japan, and with a Brookline, Mass., library for borrowing material about Zionism. Correspondence is accompanied by periodicals and pamphlets published by the above named organizations. Also include legal notes and contracts, 1890-1919; notebooks, 1878-1880, kept while studying law; newsclippings, 1888-1940; diaries, 1876 and 1893; account book, 1887-1888; political campaign materials, 1903-1938; postcards, tourist maps, broadsides, and hand bills. Also include correspondence, 1900-1904, of Florida H. Parrish, pertaining to women's suffrage; and her license, 1900, to practice law.
